Meet our Leadership
James Lee Sorenson
CEO — The Sorenson Group
Mr. Sorenson has been leading major real estate development projects for more than 35 years. Early in his career he developed the 120-acre Sorenson Research Park in Salt Lake City. His strategy of patience and long-term planning has resulted in industry-leading commercial and residential projects such as the 2,200-acre masterplanned Rosecrest community in Herriman, a prestigious 9,000-acre mountain development near Heber Valley, and a number of thriving commercial developments. Mr. Sorenson is also developing The Pointe, a Class A office complex and dramatic landmark on Point of the Mountain in Draper.
Beyond real estate, Mr. Sorenson helped develop several new industry categories in today's business world, including digital compression software, mass-market videophones, video relay service for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, electronic medical infusion pumps and environmental testing. He founded Sorenson Communications, co-founded Sorenson Capital and is CEO of Sorenson Media and Genetree.
Mr. Sorenson was recognized as Utah Business magazine's 2007 CEO of the Year. He serves on many business and community boards, including the University Venture Fund, Art Works for Kids, Gallaudet University and the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Development. He is a graduate of the University of Utah.
Donald E. Wallace
President — The Sorenson Group
Mr. Wallace has served 17 years guiding the company's strategy implementation and daily operations and has played key roles in the formation and growth The Sorenson Group. Mr. Wallace led the company's financial and legal strategy during extended periods of rapid growth and moved The Sorenson Group into land development from its land acquisition past.
Mr. Wallace graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Finance from the University of Utah. In addition, Mr. Wallace holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and a Juris Doctorate (JD); both from the University of Utah and is a licensed attorney.
In 2006, Mr. Wallace was appointed by Utah Governor Jon Huntsman to a four-year term on the board of directors of the Office of Property Right Ombudsman. In addition, he serves as a board member of the Utah Property Rights Coalition.
Mike Bradshaw
Vice President of Development — The Sorenson Group
Since 2001, Mr. Bradshaw has operated as the vice president of development for The Sorenson Group. As vice president, Mr. Bradshaw has managed and directed the entitlements, engineering and construction of numerous projects under The Sorenson Group. Mr. Bradshaw also provides crucial analysis for all real estate acquisitions and dispositions as well as investment strategies.
Before joining The Sorenson Group Mr. Bradshaw served as the managing director for Nolte Associates in Salt Lake City and directed a number of retail, office, and residential development projects along the Wasatch front.
After spending his undergraduate studies in Chemistry and Physics at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, Mr. Bradshaw received his B.S. in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of Utah as well as Graduate Work in Civil Engineering and Land Planning.
Corey Leiseth
Controller — The Sorenson Group
As the controller of The Sorenson Group, Mr. Leiseth is chiefly responsible for maintaining the company's cash flow management, financial reporting tools and accounting responsibility. Prior to joining The Sorenson Group in 2001, Mr. Leiseth worked as the property accounting manager for Crescent Real Estate Equities in Houston, Texas, an integral part of Morgan Stanley Real Estate that controls over 70 portfolios in key markets across the United States. From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Leiseth was the Property and Corporate Accountant for Cushman Wakefield in Houston, Texas, a real estate acquisition company with over 11,000 employees in 192 offices worldwide. Mr. Leiseth holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Houston and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Utah.
